Portugal Moto Tour – May 2023

This tour exceeded my expectations!  Marc did a fantastic job in creating a route that encompassed a wide variety of roads – from narrow cobblestone “roads” no wider than a sidewalk to nicely paved and banked endless sweepers.  Most of the roads were in great shape.  Of course, the roads need to go somewhere and, again, Marc did a great job in finding some of the best scenery in all of Portugal.  From the amazing views of the Douro Valley on Highway 222 to the summits in the National Parks and through scenic villages, we were constantly experiencing “sensory overload”.  Then at the end of the day, we were blown away by the unique accommodations provided by hotels he had researched.  And if that was not enough, we were treated to some of the best meals I’ve ever experienced whether in Portugal or elsewhere.  The Portuguese people were very “chill” which was refreshing.  I will never forget the 7-day ride through the best of what Portugal has to offer.  Great job, Marc!

Without a doubt one of the best motorcycle tour I have ever participated in, a sincere thank you Marc for organizing and guiding this special experience that I enjoyed immensely.

This tour definitely exceeded my expectations and for anyone who is looking for the best motorcycle guided tour, look no further.

Portugal is an incredible destination to explore on a motorcycle, having said that, it was the perfect combination of one passionate tour guide, experienced riders, magnificent routes (some challenging) chosen carefully by Marc, breathtaking views and special accommodations and restaurants that made this tour unforgettable.

"Performance Motorcycle Trip in Northern Portuga

“{When I learned that Marc was organizing a motorcycle trip in Northern Portugal, I jumped at the bit. He told me, high end hotels, amazing roads with perfect surfaces, great food (and wine). That's the trip one can only be enthusiastic about. So I signed up, even though I had not ridden outside the US and certainly never been to Portugal. The price was reasonable and it was only 9 months out! (Felt like an eternity).

I have experience riding in California with other riders on very technical roads. Long weekends worth 1,100 miles.

Well, this trip was everything it promised to be. Most riders knew each other which added to the amazing experience, but this was even more of a bonding experience. The roads were beautiful, the pace was spirited and the mileage was right (about 250 to 300 kms per day, which is plenty on these roads). The temperatures were ideal (we avoided the rain mostly). We stayed in a winery, in a beautiful restored convent, and visited Marvao, a spectacular medieval city crowned by a medieval castle which provides a 360 view point including Spain 11 kms out. The Douro valley was beautiful and endlessly windy. I highly recommend this tour, without any reservations. I will be back and look forward to the next tour!"
